This volume includes seven chapters that detail advances in health and disease research. In Chapter 3, the authors focus on the recent advancements in controlling and reducing the use of opioids through drug formulation and drug delivery. The purpose of Chapter 4 is to identify changes in the autonomic balance in depressed patients among civilian and military populations. Chapter 5 aims to establish changes in the vegetative balance in military personnel with neurotic spectrum psychiatric disorders. Chapter 6 explores innovative methodologies for monitoring blood coagulation dynamics through Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and current phase shift measurement. Finally, Chapter 7 elucidates the transformative journey of CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing from a bacterial immune mechanism to a precision tool capable of rewriting the human genome.
