City Sea Symbiosis

City-Sea Symbiosis explores the unique human settlement forms in Zhuhai City and Macau. This book focuses on the diversity of human settlements in the Xiangshan area, covering clan settlements (Tangjiawan ancient town), island settlements (Guishan and Guihai on Guishan Island of Zhuhai City), commercial settlements (Dock, Pátio and Beco, Inner Harbor), and cross-border settlements (Hengqin), among others.  Contributions examine these settlements' historical context, formation, and development, as well as how they interact with the geographical environment and socioeconomic factors. Chapters define the characteristics of different settlement types in terms of architectural style, spatial layout, and cultural inheritance.
