Disease and Discrimination

This book examines disease in the context of gender discrimination. It highlights and explores how socio-economic, political, cultural, and gender dimensions play a crucial role in understanding and defining disease. Through two broad categories – non-literary and literary – the volume discusses concerns such as media representation of gender, racial violence, domestic violence, and healthcare discrimination during Covid-19 pandemic, and focuses on the literary representation of gender discrimination related to diseases within and beyond South Asia.
