Supporting Literacies Within the Disciplines A Science of Reading Approach, Grades 412

Grounded in the science of reading research, this text equips pre-service and in-service teachers with the practical knowledge and strategies needed to support students as they read, write, listen, speak, and think in the disciplinary classroom. GRACE is an acronym for support offered during the three phases of the reading process: - Get Ready (before reading) - Assist (during reading) - Consider and Express (after reading)The framework is designed to be used flexibly to bridge the gap between what students can do on their own and what they can do with some expert help.
