<p><I>The Song of Hiawatha</I> (1855) is an epic poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. A master of poetic tradition and form, Longfellow wrote <I>The Song of Hiawatha</I> in trochaic tetrameter, the meter of such classical epics as the Finnish <I>Kalevala</I>.
