It gives readers lots to think about but, in the end, asks the child ''<i>What would YOU do?</i>'', leaving the ultimate decision to them. It will help children to gain independent-thinking and decision-making skills.<br><br>The situations have been tested in classrooms to ensure the examples and resolutions are age-appropriate. There are notes for parents and teachers at the back of each book.<br><br>The <i>What Would You Do?</i> series teaches children about values and behaviour, encouraging empathy for others, respect and responsibility while developing their critical thinking and decision-making skills.<br><br>The author, Jana Mohr Lone, is Executive Director of Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization (PLATO), an affiliate faculty in philosophy at the University of Washington.
