GORE-TEX gir permanent vanntetthet gjennom en vannavstĂžtende membran med mikroporer, mens vanntette klĂŠr kan vĂŠre behandlet med vannavstĂžtende impregnering uten Ă„ ha en spesifikk membran. GORE-TEX beskytter mot vĂŠr og vind i all slags vĂŠr.
Det er viktig Ä ha et mellomlag under skalljakken som gir isolasjon og varme. Du kan bruke fleece, ull, dun eller primaloft for Ä holde deg varm pÄ kalde dager.
2-lags skalljakker har et enkelt lag med membran og yttermateriale, mens 3-lags jakker inneholder et tredje lag som gir ekstra beskyttelse og holdbarhet. 2,5-lags har en behandlet overflate for lavere vekt.
Polyester kan brukes i vinterjakker, men det er ofte bedre som et ekstra lag. En tynn dunjakke med rangering 2 gir tilstrekkelig varme og kan brukes under en ytterjakke for ekstra isolasjon.
Fleece isolerer godt og tÞrker raskt, mens ull puster bedre, men kan bli litt varmt pÄ milde dager.
