Det varmeste ullundertøyet har høyere vekt (f.eks. 200g+), kombinasjoner som Doublewool, samt materialer som alpakka og tykk merinoull. Disse gir best isolasjon og varme ved lave temperaturer.
Det beste ullmerket i 2024 er Aclima, med deres Woolnet og Warmwool-kombinasjon, som fikk høyeste poengsum og kåringen «mest for pengene».
Merinoull er generelt varmere og mykere enn vanlig ull. Den har fine fibre, god temperaturregulering og er kjent for sin komfort og isolasjonsevne.
Man bør begynne å kle barna i ullundertøy rundt skolestart. Start med et tynt ulllag innerst, og legg til et ekstra lag på kalde dager. Ytterst bør det være vind- og vanntett materiale, anbefales det.
