A Graphical Password Method in Preventing Shoulder-Surfing

This book introduces a novel pass-string authentication method that combines registered locations, numeral digits, and quotient-remainder rules to deliver both enhanced security and improved usability. In the realm of computer security, ensuring the protection of data confidentiality, availability, and integrity is paramount. With the growing reliance on the Internet, security threats are escalating, necessitating robust authentication methods. Graphical passwords, though popular, are vulnerable to shoulder-surfing attacks, where attackers observe the authentication process over the user’s shoulder. Strengthen cybersecurity with an innovative authentication approach designed to combat one of the most common security threats—shoulder-surfing attacks. Supported by comprehensive user-study results, the proposed method demonstrates strong resistance to observation-based attacks while significantly reducing login time compared to conventional authentication techniques. This book is ideal for researchers, higher degree research students, cybersecurity professionals, and IT leaders; this book offers valuable insights into next-generation authentication systems and their practical applications in securing digital environments.
