Echo & The Bunnymen formed during Liverpool’s vibrant post-punk scene in 1978, founded by vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson, with Pete de Freitas joining later on drums. Fusing moody atmospherics with melodic intensity, the band quickly developed a cult following with their debut Crocodiles (1980) and its follow-up Heaven Up Here (1981). Following the release of Ocean Rain in 1984, the band embarked on a short Scandinavian tour in April 1985, performing covers of songs by Television, The Rolling Stones, Talking Heads and The Doors, alongside a second set of original material. The standout performance was the set played in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 25 April 1985. Broadcast too on FM radio, the show has since become a firm fan favourite. The full set from that evening is featured on this new 2LP set and is sure to be a welcome addition to any fan’s collection.SIDE A:1. In The Midnight Hour 3:35 / 2. The Killing Moon 4:40 / 3.
