All Of Us Right Now

All Of Us Right Now! Is the ninth full-length from Seattle psych-rock mainstays ThePurrs - a record charged with urgency, friction, and hard-won endurance. Formedin 2000 after filling their lineup via a classified ad in The Stranger, the band hasspent 25 years refining a galvanized blend of Brit-pop shimmer, blues-soakedshoegaze, and nocturnal punk romanticism."I've never been more depressed and angrier in my life," says bassist and leadvocalist Jima - and that tension fuels the record. All Of Us Right Now! #channels thedisorientation of the COVID years and political fracture - chaos that fueled acreative stall, and the band clawed their way out of it. That hard-won return is all overthis record. All four members contribute to the songwritin guitarists Jason and Liztrade shimmer and abrasion while drummer Dusty drives with crisp restraint.Midway through, the band delivers a shoegaze-leaning take on Robyn Hitchcock's "Queen Elvis." Produced by Johnny Sangster (Mudhoney, The Posies) and masteredby Ed Brooks at Resonant, the album's haze is grounded in clarity. After nearly three decades, The Purrs remain emotionally unvarnished - romantic, restless, and very much awake.
