An Unsuitable Pursuit

Espionage and forbidden romance meet in this Jacobean historical adventure, as a reluctant female informant and her fellow swordswomen investigate a plot against the Crown in 1605 London. Her orders are to charm another man while the man she loves watches. Swordmaster’s daughter Lucinda Evans always knew Lord Colin Cavendish would make her pay for the mistakes of her past. Spying on the Catholic swordsmen at her father’s fencing academy is bad enough, but now she must prise information from a charming Spanish diplomat by whatever means necessary. Given Signor DeGuerra’s reputation, success is a mixed blessin she’s damned if she does and destroyed if she doesn’t. Worse still, her handler is Cavendish’s heir and nephew, Robert McCrae, the man she loves and who remains far beyond her reach. Robert can scarcely bear to watch, let alone encourage, a liaison between Lucinda and a handsome Spanish lothario. Yet with Catholic dissent threatening to turn into treason, he puts King and country before the longings of his own heart. Double dealings leave Lucinda questioning both her orders and the people giving them. With the help of the Sisters of the Sword, her clandestine band of female fencers, she uncovers a plot that will go down in history, and knowing about it could cost her life. An Unsuitable Pursuit is Book 2 in the Sisters of the Sword series. Perfect for readers who love Jacobean intrigue, forbidden romance, espionage and resourceful women with swords. ___________________________________________________________________Praise for the Sisters of the Sword Series:? ? ? ? ?
