Fågelle is a Swedish experimental artist whose music collides lyrical beauty with raw, unhinged sonic expression, blending noise, folk, broken electronics, and haunting vocals into something entirely her own. Following two critically acclaimed albums with producer Henryk Lipp, the second of which featured Joakim Thåström, she has toured extensively across Europe alongside Zola Jesus, BIG|BRAVE, and Esben and the Witch, and played Roadburn, Way Out West, and Berghain Kantine.Bränn min jord ("Burn my soil") is her third album, and her most personal yet. After years in Berlin and Gothenburg, she returned to her home region of Halland — a patchwork of forests and abandoned mills in southern Sweden. Not out of nostalgia, but as an act of reclamation.The title references the tradition of burning ground to spark new life, a metaphor for the upheaval and rebuilding at the album's core. To make it, she embedded herself in the region, collaborating with local brass orchestras, a self-built hurdy-gurdy, and drummer Liam Amner (Alice Boman); recording a dancer moving across forest floors; and opening a communal hall to locals to leave sonic traces in the album.The result shifts between desolation and tenderness, folk tradition and contemporary sonic art, atmospheric yet physical, and impossible to place.
