Bump Bike & Baby

Shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year. Irish mountain runner Moire O’Sullivan is no stranger to challenges. Becoming the first person to complete the 100km Wicklow Round in under 24 hours, she is an athlete at her physical peak, and the summit of her career. However, when pregnancy interrupts life as she knows it, she is faced with a whole new terrain of issues: can Moire maintain her physical strength and career while treading the rocky path of new motherhood, and persevere through a pregnancy taking hold over the body that she once held such tight command over? Determined to remain at the top of her game, Moire explores the realm of adventure racing, a multi-disciplinary team expedition through wilderness and rough landscapes, set to challenge Moire both physically and mentally. Shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year, record breaking British runner Jasmin Paris describes Bump, Bike & Baby as ‘a winning journey through pregnancy, motherhood and mountains’. This honest, touching and motivational true story grapples between the pulls of postnatal family life and the passion for adventure. In a bid to win Ireland’s National Adventure Race Series amidst the fears of parental incompetence and strain of new motherhood, an all too familiar question is posed: can Moire really have it all?
