Buses and Coaches in the West of Scotland is a photographic portrait by Scott Hutchinson of the public road transport scene from Oban into Ayrshire and Inverclyde, as well as Glasgow, in the last two decades. Following deregulation and the break-up of the Scottish Bus Group, since the mid-2000s, the large operators FirstGroup and Stagecoach have dominated bus services in the area, particularly First Glasgow which took over from Strathclyde Buses, but Citylink are the major coach operator and a number of smaller bus and coach operators still continue to ply their trade. This photographic survey through two decades of the bus and coach scene in the West of Scotland since the mid-2000s will appeal to all those with an interest in the history of road transport in this region.
