Carers' Policies in East Asia

This book addresses the dearth of comparative studies on carers’ policies in Asia by analysing rapid socio-economic changes and rising caregiving demands in six East Asian societies: China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The book examines the initiatives to support family carers and assess their impact. It further highlights the similarities and differences in carers’ policies across the six societies, proposing the necessary changes to alleviate the caring burden and promote the well-being of both carers and care recipients.
