Circularity

Circularity marks a paradigm shift from the traditional linear economy to the necessary circular economy. This volume captures the importance of circularity and its critical role in achieving global sustainability. A sustainable circular economy (SCE) is a model of production and consumption, which involves prolonging the lifecycle of existing materials and products as long as possible. SCE addresses global challenges by implementing three base principles: eliminating waste and pollution, circulating products and materials, and regenerating natural resources. Circular development builds a sustainable society through the conservation and use of environmental resources. Circular economy addresses global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. Illustrates how a circular economy can be a way to mitigate society’s challenges, both in an environmental, but also economic and societal perspective. Describes how circular development becomes a model of economic, social, and environmental production and consumption that can help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)Demonstrates that green sustainable chemistries can and should be leading contributors in discussion on environmental science and chemistry. Highlights new models, processes, applications and developments in circular economics and green chemistry, which demonstrates how sustainability is adapting in the new age.
