Diket Diket I Solen I Diket Vinyl

The Grammis-nominated indie-folk band Diket are finally releasing their first full-length album, *DIKET I SOLEN I DIKET*.The narrative world of *DIKET I SOLEN I DIKET* unfolds through the changing seasons, with semlor in a slushy January, the blinding April sun, the one-off barbecues of early summer, the new, shiny calendars in September, and in November with frozen puddles and the darkness of night creeping in as early as four o’clock. Some count down the months until next summer and struggle to afford the rent for their tiny room in the grubby student flat-share. Some sit at home watching their favourite TV series and realise it no longer means anything to them, whilst others are dumped in the pouring rain behind a football pitch. The big picture is revealed through the small details. Loneliness, despondency, a sense of belonging, love, the body and financial insecurity are all there in the rear light of a bicycle as it shrinks to a star in the night sky, in the brown-grey winter landscape as it resembles meatballs with brown sauce and rutabaga mash, and in the colour that the frost has taken from the world, which finds a new home in the warm cheeks of the person in love.Oslo is a recurring point of reference; an expensive city to live in, but also the place where the poems and melodies come to life.
