Drawing together a wide variety of original empirical research from across the world, this key title explores schemes that have sought to promote short-term international student mobility. It focuses on both regional and national initiatives aiming to foster border-crossing, examining the specificities of particular schemes, as well as points of connection and similarity. With a broad geographical focus, the book analyses national schemes from Australia, Brazil, Hungary, Sardinia, Turkey, the UK and Wales. It also explores regional programmes – particularly the European Union’s Erasmus Scheme and the Nordplus Scheme, which operates in the Nordic region of Europe.
