Hamas An Anatomy of Terror

Hamas has been central to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for decades. Founded in 1987 during the first intifada, with roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas has become synonymous with armed resistance against Israel. Over the years, Hamas has grown from a resistance movement to a central political and military force in Gaza, and has been behind countless attacks and suicide bombings that have claimed thousands of lives. Ranstrop gives us a profound and personal analysis of the movement’s history and how it has evolved over the years. His analysis of key leadership, with whom he has met, provides insight into Hamas’ driving forces, from its roots in Gaza until the violent emergence as one of the most influential and controversial actions in the Middle East. The book begins with the attack on October 7, 2023, retraces the history of the organization and brings the reader back to the attack at the end. This is not a complete analysis of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, nor does it cover the Israeli-Hamas war and subsequent humanitarian consequences. Instead, it focuses on understanding Hamas from its founding up to the attacks that came to change the world.
