Heaven

Bestselling author Tim Challies helps families envision what they will find in heaven. While June and Ollie are at the duck pond they once visited every week with their Mimi, they realize how much they miss her. So much so that Ollie wishes they could take a rocket ship to heaven to see her. With their mom’s help, they begin to talk about what heaven will be like—bright like the sun, a place where all animals can be friends, and there will be no fighting or tears. They picture gardens and parties, where all God’s people celebrate forever with him! This helps them be more excited for heaven and Mimi, even though they miss her. Through the gentle conversations and engaging illustrations by Ana Sanfelippo, children are invited to process loss, explore what the Bible says about heaven, and see how everyday acts of kindness reflect God’s kingdom. Heaven offers a comforting and lasting hope that is centered in the promises of Scripture. Written for children ages 4–7, Heaven invites young readers to imagine the joy of God's promised kingdom while helping them understand what the Bible teaches about life with him. As the first book in the One Big Word series, it encourages children to reflect God's love here and now while looking forward with hope to heaven. A special section for parents provides practical guidance for continuing conversations about faith, grief, and the promises of Scripture.
