Formed in 2021 by pianist and composer Jonas Cambien, Maca Conu has quickly established itself as a distinctive force in Oslo’s adventurous jazz scene. Popular Misconceptions is the band’s second album and their first release on Sonic Transmissions Records, the Oslo-based label founded by bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten.The album features Cambien alongside Signe Emmeluth (alto & tenor saxophones), Guro Kvåle (trombone), Håker Flaten (double bass), and Andreas Wildhagen (drums).
