THE UNFORGETTABLE LEGAL THRILLER FROM THE QUEEN OF CRIME DRAMA, LYNDA LA PLANTEWhen the skeleton of a teenage girl is found under the patio of a North London house, Superintendent Mike Walker is assigned to investigate. But Walker is unhappy about working on the case. Not only have forensic tests dated the death from years ago, when the house operated as a B&B, he has to work on the case with the ex-boyfriend of his current partner, Pat North. North, who is excelling in her career, has her own issues. Though her work as part of a Met Police scoping team is going well, she cannot stop thinking about the recent loss of her baby. When three more skeletons are found, North is called to the scene, arriving just as the bones of the final body are being dug up: a baby. Who has committed these murders? The former owners of the B&B? Their strange daughter? A long-term lodger? And will North be able to look past her own grief to find the murderer?
