Karin Krog Oppet Fyra Vinyl

Norwegian vocalist Karin Krog is a versatile artist, yet perhaps best known as a more traditional jazz singer. On this album, we aim to broaden the perspective and show her more experimental side, where she fully displays her artistic courage and openness. In May 1970, she was invited to the TV program NDR Jazz Workshop on Norddeutscher Rundfunk. She scrambled together a temporary Scandinavian ensemble with Terje Rypdal, Lars-Göran Ulander and Berndt Egerbladh, among others. They performed music written by Egerbladh (tracks 1–4). Berndt Egerbladh's music is thoroughly composed but leaves plenty of room for improvisation and individual contributions, which suits the musicians in this group perfectly. The result is a creative and beautiful groove in this musical formation.
