Little Girl Blue

Little Girl Blue was Nina Simone's first studio recording ever. On this album the singer and pianist is backed just by bassist Jimmy Bond and drummer Albert "Tootie" Heath. Many of the tracks would become true classics, among them her perennial version of "My Baby Just Cares For Me". This album introduced Nina not only as a brilliant singer, but also as a unique jazz pianist. Simone's signature tune, "I Loves You, Porgy," appears here in her first studio version. AllMusic reviewer Thom Jurek gave the album four out of five stars, stating that "Little Girl Blue showcases her ballad voice as one of mystery and sensuality and showcases her up-tempo jazz style with authority and an enigmatic down-home feel that is nonetheless elegant." 180-gram VIRGIN VINYL LIMITED EDITION of 1000 COPIES. The Complete Album + 1 Bonus Track.
