Murder of the Unwanted A Blackpool Crime thriller featuring DI Layla Khan

A politically charged British police procedural set in Blackpool, where an arson attack on an asylum hotel collides with a murder inquiry and a town’s fraying community relations. Detective-led crime fiction with a cold-case thread and a social conscience. A Town on Fire. A Killer in the Crowd. A Blackpool hotel housing asylum seekers and refugees whilst their applications are processed is deliberately set alight, and serious overcrowding turns the fire lethal. Meanwhile, DI Layla Khan and her team investigate the apparently unconnected murder of a retired teacher, a case that drags back into the light the disappearance of a Blackpool woman six years ago who's never been found. As the murder count rises, Khan becomes convinced the crimes are connected. Proving it means getting ahead of people who cover their tracks well, whilst Blackpool simmers around her. Murder of the Unwanted is a standalone Blackpool crime thriller featuring DI Layla Khan, for readers who love British police procedurals, politically charged cases and detectives who refuse to let go. Perfect for fans of Ann Cleeves, L.J. Ross and Ian Rankin.
