As soon as Rebecca entered the house, she could tell something was off. Just a feeling but she knew her home and something wasn't right. She stood for a moment without turning on the lights. She moved slowly through the living room. Nothing looked out of place. She started toward the kitchen and there it was. A shadow. Now she wished she had listened to Hershel and kept her small pistol in her purse. Hershel had bought it for her after their experience with the drug smugglers six months ago.
