The Mars Volta Lucro Sucio Unfinished Business Limited Edition Vinyl Red

The Mars Volta announce their latest album, Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business, which marks their first official live release since 2005’s Scabdates. Far from a straightforward live performance of their most recent studio album, Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío, this new release is a deep reinterpretation of the source material with an added twist: the band’s invitation for fans to participate in the album-making process. The project began with a cryptic countdown timer on The Mars Volta’s official website, which revealed an interactive voting mechanism allowing fans to choose which live performances would make the cut. Each track was represented by a cryptic symbol corresponding to the city where the performance was recorded during the band’s acclaimed fall 2025 tour. In addition to the audio release, the band will also issue a companion Blu-ray film, which mixes psychedelic live performances with documentary footage, giving viewers a rare behind-the-scenes look at this enigmatic group. This set of new releases captures The Mars Volta exploring new boundaries of its creative expression, with the Blu-ray offering a window into how band leaders Omar Rodriguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala see themselves as they say goodbye to the past and welcome the future.
