Damned Cows!

Jill Dudley's Song of the Farmer's Wife and The Battle of the Cowshed were first broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Both these can now be read here in Damned Cows! along with other comical pieces on farming life as she experienced it. Once part of London high society, Jill Dudley unwittingly became a penniless farmer's wife. Drawing on her own resources as an author (See her website : www.orpingtonpublishers.co.uk) she claims it was her strict two hours daily writing that kept her sane. Romance, wild imagination, sounds and silences on a farm, all build up a picture of the pleasures to be had from farming despite the daily drudgery.
