The diagnosis of parasitic diseases in domestic animals typically relies on conventional techniques, such as faecal and blood smear examinations. Although immunological and molecular methods are being employed with greater frequency, the age-old adage seeing is believing continues to guide veterinary practitioners worldwide. Despite the increasing use of advanced techniques, faecal and blood smear examinations remain the gold standard and cost-effective means of detecting parasitic infections in animals.
