Digital Media in Inclusive Physical Education: A Topic for Physical Education Teacher Education Development, Implementation, and Evaluation of Teaching–Learning Scenarios

Digital media offer a wide range of opportunities to support physical education and address the needs of a diverse student population. However, it is crucial that their use is reflective, purposeful, and grounded in sound pedagogical principles. This book examines the potentials and challenges of digitally supported inclusive physical education, defines the concept of digital-inclusive teaching competence for physical education teachers, and investigates how prospective physical education teachers can be prepared to use digital media in a diversity-sensitive manner. Drawing on the Design-Based Research approach, teaching–learning scenarios are developed, implemented, evaluated, and refined in order to provide both guiding principles and practical recommendations for fostering inclusion-oriented digitalization in physical education teacher education.
