Forgetting to Remember

That's the question that Briggs must face. When a virus wipes out almost all life on Earth, Briggs finds himself one of the very, very few who are now... immortal. With a body that heals from almost any injury, the only concern is how much information can a human mind retain? What memories provide the bare essence of a personality - and which ones can be - should be - discarded. In Forgetting to Remember, Prentis Rollins asks what would remain of someone's personal identity, if they lived 8,000 years? What indeed would happen to a mind-evolved to last about 80 years-if it were compelled to persist that long? Forgetting to Remember is in the tradition of immortal-themed scifi stories and novels. But it approaches this tradition from a new, epistemological angle.
