He dismisses the idea and, although stressed at the thought, feels that he faces nonexistence, convinced that he will return to the state he was in before his conception. </p><p>As his wife and children await his passing while he lies in hospital, we learn that his life has been complex in recent times, leaving the family facing compounded grief.
