Parametric Architecture and the Rise of Environmental Cognition Toward Sentient, DataDriven Building Ecologies

This book allows readers to explore how real-time climate data, artificial intelligence, and biomimicry converge to create sentient, net-zero buildings that actively safeguard both the planet and its inhabitants. Buildings no longer have to be static objects; they can sense, learn, and evolve. Inside, vivid diagrams trace the journey from generative code to a finished façade. Meanwhile, workflow tables, KPI dashboards, and downloadable scripts translate complex theory into studio-ready practice. Step-by-step chapters unpack bio-digital morphologies, kinetic “thinking skins,” and AI-driven BIM toolkits, followed by global case studies—from Abu Dhabi to Copenhagen—that highlight measurable energy savings and occupant comfort gains. A final look at self-healing concrete, mycelium skins, and energy-harvesting façades previews the next frontier of regenerative design. Whether you are an architect, engineer, researcher, or advanced student, this book offers a clear road map for balancing daylight, energy, carbon, and well-being across multiple scenarios—reducing iteration time while elevating creativity. In short, it equips you to transform the built environment from passive shelter into an active partner in planetary stewardship.
