The Writing Game

It started as fun. It ended in murder. When Frank Ellison finds an abandoned rucksack on a park bench in Barnes, he does the decent thin he sets out to deliver the letters inside to their rightful owners. Days later, he is found murdered in his own home. Each letter contains just two things - a literary quotation and a chilling two-word message: Say nothing. DI Garibaldi discovers that the recipients all belonged to the same creative writing class and that the quotations all point to a game they played in their final session. As he delves into the group s old rivalries and buried secrets, one thing becomes clear: every member of that writing class is hiding something behind their carefully chosen words. Then the threats begin. Then the violence. What started as a harmless exercise has become a killer s opening chapter and anyone in the class could be next.
