We Is Greater Than Me

What if leadership wasn't about carrying everything alone - but about building a team that thrives without you? In sports and small business, teams routinely underperform despite having the right talent. What's missing isn't ability. It's a defined team identity - the pack - and a system to turn that identity into performance. Without clarity about who they are and how they win together, potential never becomes results. In We Is Greater Than Me, bestselling author and world-renowned motivational speaker Eric Thomas, alongside longtime collaborator Carlas Quinney Jr., delivers a powerful blueprint for distributed leadership - built on trust, clarity, and shared responsibility rather than control and burnout. Through real-life leadership failures and victories - from university campuses to global organizations - Thomas and Quinney challenge the myth of the lone leader and expose why hustle without structure eventually collapses. Blending storytelling with research-backed insights - including findings from a national study showing shared leadership outperforms top-down models in engagement, retention, and long-term results - the authors reveal how the strongest teams operate like African wild dogs, not lions: aligned, adaptive, and collectively strong. We Is Greater Than Me will show readers how to: Shift from individual grind to collective execution; Build trust-based leadership that empowers others; Create systems that scale without burnout; Identify and activate strengths across a team; Develop a legacy that continues when the leader steps away; Move from hard work without results to focused execution that wins. Urgent, practical, and deeply motivating, We Is Greater Than Me equips leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, and teams to move from talent alone to true team performance - together.
